Tabet's Bakery at 607 Sydney Road, Brunswick (opposite the police station) is at the top of our list for great cheap food in Melbourne. They serve only a few items - mainly Lebanese pizza.

You shouldn't confuse the Lebanese 'pizza' with the more familiar Italian one.

At Tabet's you will watch the dough (basically unleavened bread) sprinkled with ingredients, placed in an open gas oven and quickly heated through, then folded and placed in a simple paper bag.

If you order a meat pizza, you may choose to have some fresh lemon and chilli applied straight after cooking.
