Madam Virtue & Co.
presents the Japanese Couture Master Designers

Dean Hewitt presents an installation from his archive collection of the great Japanese designers: Issey Miyake, Yohji Yamamoto, Comme des Garçons and Kenzo.
Japanese design first burst onto the fashion scene to make a lasting impression back in 1982, when some 12 designers showed their collections at the Paris prêt-à-porter shows. Today fashion is dominated by such Japanese designers as Issey Miyake, Kenzo, Yohji Yamamoto, Comme des Garçons, Tsumori Chisato and Hanae Mori. The refreshing use of inventive shapes and monochrome tones, particularly black, has shocked, revitalised and stimulated the fashion world to reach new heights.

Geelong Mill Markets

Until recently, this location hosted a large and popular market. That market has relocated to Newcomb (see below). The remaining Geelong Mills Matket now has a large array of retro advertising signs, furniture, and larger and quirky mechanical and industrial equipment. White Hat can recommend this market as a good source for those looking to do a quirky fitout as well as to theatre companies and film-makers looking for genuine period props. It now functions more as a warehouse so give a ring before making a special trip. |

This large antique market with a wide range of items is located on two floors of an old school building and also contains a museum with a small entry charge. It is morein the nature of a very large antique store and does not appear to have the space to cater for casual stallholders.
