SHARP, FLAT and GRAND - Piano recitals at Como Historic House
|
Every Wednesday from February 24th to March 31st 2010 Como Historic House is
proud to play host to the talents of pianist Nancy Tsou. The accomplished
musician is in residence to present a series of piano recitals, featuring the
work of Chopin,
Beethoven and the
Romantics, as well as Argentinean Tangos and popular contemporary music.
Admission includes morning tea and guided tour of the mansion.

in.cube8r gallery is a shop/gallery which runs like a long term market. It is open to anyone who makes things by hand and supports all things craft, art and hand-made in Melbourne. The gallery is divided up into glass cubicles, shelves, racks and partitions which artists can lease for a small weekly cost over a three month period. There is no commission on items sold. When Whitehat visited in June2008 we discovered a treasure trove of new upcoming artisans as well as designers like Julie Ughetti, with an international reputation. The work ranges from the quirky to sophisticated and given the diversity of art work on display you appear to be guaranteed to find eclectic original pieces. |

The remaining Geelong Mills Matket now has a large array of retro advertising signs, furniture, and larger and quirky mechanical and industrial equipment. White Hat can recommend this market as a good source for those looking to do a quirky fitout as well as to theatre companies and film-makers looking for genuine period props. It now functions more as a warehouse so give a ring before making a special trip. |
