Toorak Village Festival of Sculpture

For the entire month of may, Toorak Village businesses will display 99 contemporary sculptures in their windows and bolted to the pavements along Toorak Road. Take your time surveying the sculptures as well as the shops. Please enjoy 'a decade of sculpture' and take advantage of the warm hospitality of the traders in the village. Catalogues are available from any of the shops in the village and all sculptures are for sale. Toorak Village is between Wallace Ave and Grange Rd, just east of Williams Rd. Simply catch the no 8 tram from Federation Square, along Toorak Road to stop no 35.

Brimbank Community Market

Brimbank Community Market.is a privately owned Australian company and aims is to develop the site in Ardeer into an iconic attraction, a valuable addition to the western suburbs. It is more than a traditional weekend market. The stalls are an attraction in their own right and provide a great atmosphere where patrons will find products and services only found at weekend markets, the market will also have a huge area devoted to entertainment, with a circus, amusements, children's play area, a traditional sumo wrestling ring and other entertainment. The main objective is to provide an environment where the whole family will find something to enjoy. The entertainment and community involvement will be varied and ongoing and it is hoped that each time you visit the market you will find something new and exciting. Caribbean Gardens Market

A large market picnic area and a big range of new and second hand goods. On Wednesdays entry is free and there is access to and general market, food stalls and playground. Hurstbridge Farmers' Market

The Hurstbridge Farmers’ Market, has an emphasis on local fresh food and produce that is grown, reared, caught or made by the person selling the produce. Local producers will be given preference over producers from out of the area and the range of produce on sale will vary from season to season. Products include: free range meats, seasonal vegetables, seasonal fruit, honey, olives and olive oil, baked goods, cheeses, eggs ,seedlings, wine and more. White Hat reminds city dwellers that Hurstbridge is accessible by train and that a Sunday Saver ticket costing next to nothing. in.cube8r gallery is a shop/gallery which runs like a long term market. It is open to anyone who makes things by hand and supports all things craft, art and hand-made in Melbourne. The gallery is divided up into glass cubicles, shelves, racks and partitions which artists can lease for a small weekly cost over a three month period. There is no commission on items sold. When Whitehat visited in June2008 we discovered a treasure trove of new upcoming artisans as well as designers like Julie Ughetti, with an international reputation. The work ranges from the quirky to sophisticated and given the diversity of art work on display you appear to be guaranteed to find eclectic original pieces.
