Bringalbit is a country property near Mt. Macedon retaining some of its
original remnant Peppermint Gums,
Yellow Box and Manna Gums fail to break the winds. These have been supplemented
confers, oaks, willow and poplar thickets, Monterey pines and Osage trees,
nearly all planted in the 19th century. The large trees, together with a small
creek feeding a couple of dams and the garden lake before cascading down it’s
rocky falls below the spillway forms a peaceful retreat in country Victoria.
There is a 60metre Quince Walk that delights in Spring and Autumn. Elsewhere in
the garden swathes of roses,
lavender, dianthus and gaura soak up the sun on the north facing terraces with
their silver foliage context of snow-in-summer edging. Entry $5 per person

A large outdoor second hand goods, bric a brac. A small entry fee applies. White Hat can recommend this market as one of the better ones in Melbourne for vintage clothing. It is a 5minute walk from Camberwell Station. It is not operating on the 20th & 27th December 2009.

On Sundays there is an entry fee and as well as the market there is a children's train and boat rides, rock climbing. Caribbean Gardens Market is close to the Eastlink freeway and is now oppen Fridays as well as Wednesdays and Sundays. It is closed Christmas Day.

When White Hat last attended there were specialty wild mushrooms, artisan breads and specialty vegetables.

in.cube8r gallery is a shop/gallery which runs like a long term market. It is open to anyone who makes things by hand and supports all things craft, art and hand-made in Melbourne. The gallery is divided up into glass cubicles, shelves, racks and partitions which artists can lease for a small weekly cost over a three month period. There is no commission on items sold. When Whitehat visited in June2008 we discovered a treasure trove of new upcoming artisans as well as designers like Julie Ughetti, with an international reputation. The work ranges from the quirky to sophisticated and given the diversity of art work on display you appear to be guaranteed to find eclectic original pieces.
(Previously known as the Greensborough Community Market) A market with 100 stalls selling fruit, veg, plants, second hand good and home made products as well as trash and treasure. After operating for over 30 years in Greensborough, the market has moved to LaTrobe University due to redevelopment works in the Greensborough precinct. The market is located in Car Park 2 with free parking in Car Park 1. Use the North Entry to LaTrobe University on Kingsbury Drive. No dogs are allowed.
Lost & Found is an indoor market based in a shop just off Smith Street Collingwood. It features vintage furniture, lighting, art, posters, clothes, books, records and anything collectable. Permenant and casual stalls available.

An outdoor community market with produce and trash & treasure. Some carpark markets are straggly and slightly soorry affairs, but not this one. White Hat can recommend the produce - we suspect that a lot of it is grown in (largely Greek) back gardens in the Oakleigh area.

A Farmers Market organised by the Rotary Club of Frankston has a wide variety of farm fresh produce including fruits, vegetables, meats, breads and pastas. A small entry donation with proceeds to community projects. When White Hat last visited (Sept 2011) we enjoyed the pleasnt atmosphere down by the creek. This market is perhaps a little lighter on for vegetables than many farmers markets but makes up for that with its varities of oils, condiment, meats and other produce.

Parking is available and a small entry charge applies. As you can see in the photograph, if you want to buy a roll of carpet, this is the place to go.
