The White Hat Guide to Presentation of Food
If management of food wastage isn’t one of our strong points here at White Hat, then neither is presentation. I have cooked it - I know what goodies have gone in there - it is going to taste good – but what about everybody else? If you take a little trouble with the presentation that is code for “I have taken some time and trouble with this meal so you flaming well better like it.” All that just for wiping the excess gravy from the rim of the plate, arranging the veal cutlets in a heart shape and sprinkling over some chopped chives and lemon zest. We don’t take any care when we throw the leftovers into the dog’s bowl with the result that one of the derogatory things you can say about a person is “she looks like a dog’s breakfast”. Centuries of dogs getting up in the morning and staring at a bowl of unaesthetically arranged food has ultimately led to the fact that you can’t today see works major piece of canine provenance hanging in the Louvre today. Do you wish to similarly disadvantage your loved ones?
