Welcome to the April Fools' Market which didn't exist in the past and doesn't exist today.

You can't say that we didn't try to warn you in our description. Here are some of the things that may have alerted you:

• "In 1842... goods shipped into the Colony of Victoria from the neighbouring Colony of New South Wales were subject to [taxes]" - In 1842 the Colony of Victoria had not been invented and Melbourne was part of the Colony of New South Wales.
• "a poly cow with a hastily made rope lead attached to its horns" - A poly cow doesn't have horns.
• "Bombay Duck made from free range organic ducks from Warrnambool" - Bombay Duck is not made from duck.
• "gefilte fish which have been farmed in the icy waters of the high country" - gefilte fish is not a species of fish
• "newly arrived Brazilians which means they only speak Spanish" - the language of Brazil is Portuguese, not Spanish
• "one tenth of the total price paid for new goods will immediately go off to the government as GST" - GST is not one tenth of the total price paid - it is one eleventh.
