The White Hat Guide to Saturday Markets in Brisbane & Queensland
White Hat - THE place to find markets
Over the years White Hat has become recognised as THE
place to list and find markets and our
markets pages consistently receive over 3,000 visitors a day with over
6,000 a day at weekends. Unlike many
websites which merely LIST markets, White Hat VISITS markets as
witnessed by the photographs. Although we visit hundreds of markets
every year we can never cover all of them so please let us know if any
of our information is out of date. With details on over 600 markets,
users regularly tell us that the
White Hat listing is the best and most
comprehensive source of markets available either on the web
or in print.

White Hat Tips for
Stallholders No.17 - Theft
People stealing your goods can be
heartbreaking and can often make the difference between making a
profit from your efforts or not. Judging by our feedback, women's
clothing and jewellery are the most common targets. Theft usually
takes place while you are attending another customer and there are
certain markets which are particularly prone to this problem. If you
can, have a second person on the stall and adopt the practice of
always having one of you on watch. |

Powerhouse Farmers Markets
|
|
A colourful bustling market selling fresh farm produce flowers breads artisan products meat fish poultry plants organics and food related objects. For those who are purist about framers' markets needing to be operated solely by farmers selling their produce then this may not be for you. However White Hat can recommend it as a combination of framers' market and mainstream market, and in the end if you are serious about the origins of the produce you buy you can always talk to the stallholders (which you still need to do at the 'holier-than thou farmers' markets anyway). There are plenty of exotic products, special promotions, entertaining events and chefs give cooking classes. |
