Glebe Market
|
|
Glebe Market is a bustling outdoor market set in school grounds close to Sydney University. It has a distinctly alternative and hippy feel. However there is also a wide range of mainstream items and is a good place to find distinctive hand-made clothing. White Hat particularly enjoys a snack from the Indian stall. An hour or so spent at this market on a Saturday morning is a great way to relax into the weekend. |

Paddington Markets
|
|
A mainly outdoor market with 250 stalls set in the grounds of the historic Paddington Uniting Church. This market reflects the character of present day Paddington with an emphasis on quality crafts and hand made new fashions. However there is an eclectic range of stalls and White Hat can recommend the freshly made waffles. |

Rocks Market
|
|
A market with over 150 stalls situated in the middle of George Street in The Rocks. Although this is an outdoor market the distinctive sails provide protection from the weather. White Hat enjoys having a meal from a local pub while sitting outside within spitting distance (not that we would do that of course) of the stalls. The emphasis of the market is on Australian memorabilia and gifts. |

Sydney’s Paddys Markets Haymarket
|
|
This is Sydney's best-known market and and one of the longest established. In
a large indoor setting on the edge of
Chinatown and on the
tourist tram route you will find stalls selling all manner of wares and produce.
On the upper floors of the same building you will find food halls and a large
number of variety shops. We at White Hat have shopped at this maket many times
over the years and have been as delighted with the things that remain the same
as we have with the the new additions. |

The Rocks Markets by Moonlight
|
White Hat can particularly recommend The Rocks Markets by Moonlight on Friday
nights in November as a great way to wind down after a week's work. Apart from
the market there is always live entertainment. November nights in Sydney are
usually balmy, but if they are not they Rocks Market is well covered with sails
and there plenty of watering holes where you can eat and drink and soak up the
atmosphere. Entertainment for 2007 includes:
- 2 November 2007: 6.30pm – 7.30pm Monique Brumby; 8pm – 9pm Tim Freedman
- 9 November 2007: 6.30pm – 7.30pm Jack Jones; 8pm – 9pm Ian Moss
