The White Hat Guide to Princes Bridge
Princes Bridge is one of the central bridges in Melbourne and links Swanston Street to St Kilda Road. It is the third bridge on the site, and those interested in its history and significance to Melbourne will find information at The White Hat Guide to 7 Bridges of Melbourne - No.1 Princes Bridge. Because of its position, Princes Bridge is often a focal point for celebratory events in Melbourne such as Moomba, New Years Eve and many celebrations taking place on the Yarra River. From Princes Bridge it is only a short walk to Flinders Street Station, Southgate, Birrarung Marr and Federation Square. Events related to Princes Bridge

Beyond the Façade: Flinders Street, More Than Just a Railway Station
“Hi White Hat
My book, "Beyond the Facade: Flinders Street, more than just a
railway station" took out the Overall Winner for the Victorian
Community History Awards on Thursday which was a great day for self
publishers and for me in particular!
"The Community" that my book represents is huge and the stories and
connections keep flowing in. The judges' comments were very much in
line with yours from last year when we met for a beer beside the
Yarra. I really appreciated the vote of confidence you gave me for
my work!
Regards Jenny Davies”

TOURISM NEWS
Qantas In Flight Magazine chooses
White Hat
Cemetery Tour as its featured Australian tour for May

There are many fine historical tours
throughout Australia including cemetery tours. From these, the
prestigious Qantas In Flight Magazine has chosen the White Hat Tour
of Melbourne Cemetery as its featured Australian tour for the May
2007 edition. This tour was also featured by ABC radio on 24 May and
will feature in a documentary series on Burke and Wills to be shown
on European television in 2008. The tour has been operating for many years and has won
praise from a wide range of sources. This is not a dry and stuffy
tour but in keeping with all White Hat offerings it is Informed,
Intelligent, Independent (and occasionally) Irreverent. You can find
details of the tour at White
Hat Tour of Melbourne Cemetery and view the article at
Qantas In Flight Magazine. |
