Why sell your product on the White Hat website?

  • Exposure - thousands of people visit White Hat on any one day. Many advertisers find that, even though they have their own web pages, a search for their product still puts our pages well ahead of theirs. That is because search engines such as Google use various techniques to rate the 'credibility' of pages. Such techniques include how many other 'credible' web pages link to yours. White Hat's credibility rating (and thus your potential exposure on search engines) has been been built up over a number of years.
  • People trust the White Hat brand - it has taken us a number of years to build a trust in the brand and to build a brand community. Many have come to recognise that some high exposure sites only list a restricted range of things, others submerge the information in mindless advertising speak and many others never reach critical mass. However, many visitors to our site have already enjoyed receiving our quirky weekly newsletter for a number of years (over 6,000 regular readers) with information about things to do in Melbourne. It is difficult for newcomers to the market to build a similar degree of trust with customers simply by spending a large amount of money.
  • Security - White Hat uses secure website technology for safe processing of credit cards and payments are transferred to you promptly.

How much does it cost?

Prices start from as low as $30 for a three month exposure.

What products will be accepted?

White Hat does not knowingly promote sexually explicit material, gambling or a number of other products. This is not a value judgement on such things. It just reflects the fact that our site is regularly used by school students and others for whom 'unpleasant surprises' are inappropriate. Unlike most other sites, we also do not knowingly accept 'rival advertising'. Thus we are unlikely to accept advertising for pages such as the Regent Theatre or Victoria Market pages that say "don't go this attraction - go to ours instead". If in doubt, submit your product and we will let you know if it fits our guidelines.

How do I get more information?

Send us an email at selling@whitehat.com.au giving us brief information about your product and the sort of pages on which you would like to promote it, and we will send you a no-obligation quote for exposure of various sizes on various pages.

TOURISM NEWS
Qantas In Flight Magazine chooses White Hat Cemetery Tour as its featured Australian tour for May

There are many fine historical tours throughout Australia including cemetery tours. From these, the prestigious Qantas In Flight Magazine has chosen the White Hat Tour of Melbourne Cemetery as its featured Australian tour for the May 2007 edition. This tour was also featured by ABC radio on 24 May and will feature in a documentary series on Burke and Wills to be shown on European television in 2008. The tour has been operating for many years and has won praise from a wide range of sources. This is not a dry and stuffy tour but in keeping with all White Hat offerings it is Informed, Intelligent, Independent (and occasionally) Irreverent. You can find details of the tour at White Hat Tour of Melbourne Cemetery and view the article at Qantas In Flight Magazine.
