Boroondara Farmers Market An outdoor market in a pleasant grassed reserve featuring statewide produce including breads, olive oil, honey, fruit & vegetables. Bundoora Park Farmers Market Regional fresh produce at an outdoor farmers' market. A small entry fee applies. White Hat recommends that if you are visiting this market with a young family that you consider making a day of it (or at least a half day) by visiting the nearby urban farm. For those interested in historic houses, White Hat can thoroughly recommend a visit to the neary Bundoora Homestead. If you do either of these you may need to remember to take a cooler to keep your fruir & vegies fresh. Fairfield Farmers Market Set in the grounds of Fairfield Primary School, with up to 40 stalls of the freshest seasonal produce including artisan breads, coffee, eggs, lowers and plants, fruit and veg, herbs and spices, meats, pasta and sauces, olive oil, preserves and hand made soaps. White hat attended the first two times this market was held. Food & Seed Swap at Slow Food Farmers’ Market As mentioned in the edition of White Hat Food Newsletter focusing on 'Sustainable Food', Sustainable Gardening Australia (SGA) is holding their first ever fruit and veg/seed swap at the Abbotsford Convent Slow Food Farmer’s Market. If you’ve had a bountiful crop this winter and ended up with more fruit and veg than you know what to do with, they’d love you to come along and take part. Not only is this a great opportunity to show off your skills, but to also chat with with like-minded individuals and to have fun. The aim is to get members like yourself talking and discussing the successes (and failures!) of your efforts in sustainable gardening while sharing your produce as well as your knowledge. It’s also a great opportunity to swap some seeds as Spring approaches. There will be SGA volunteers heading along to give you the latest happenings on the PODs project – Productive, Organic and Diverse gardening groups. Veg Out St Kilda Farmers' Market Fresh & organic produce at Veg Out Community Garden. White Hat recommends a visit to this market if you are interested to see what can be achieved when a suburban bowling green is converted into a community vegetable garden. Yarrawonga Farmers' Market North East Victoria is renowned for a large diversity of produce including wines, nuts, olives, stonefruit, apples, prime beef, lamb, vegetables, honey, cheese and citrus.
