A general indoor market with long-term stall and shop holders with butchers, a fishmonger, poultry, delis, dry goods, fruit and vegetables and some variety and clothing stores. 6am to 6pm Monday to Saturdays (Fridays open till 7pm). On Sundays only the fruit and veg section is open (enter from rear) from 7am to 6pm.

The Ian Potter Museum of Art at Melbourne University is a short tram ride from the city and a short walk from Lygon Street Carlton. Entry is free but from time to time there are special exhibitions in part of the gallery which may entail an entry charge.
