White Hat recommends that the Lucinda Markets are well worth a detour off the highway. With over 30 stalls in a seaside atmosphere and Hinchinbrook Island in the background there are plenty of relaxing things to see and do in Lucinda. It also offers wonderful opportunities for photographs, including the engineering achievement of the large Lucinda jetty.

Mercer Lane Markets

White Hat finds this to be a particularly well-chosen location for a market featuring hand made local art and craft. The location is in front of the nearly 50 metre long mosaic created by local artists and celebrating the history of the district -particularly the sugar cane industry. Cairns Cruise Liner Markets

This market is primarily provided for visitors arriving on cruise liners but locals and other visitors are welcome. The market has tourism items, local produce and gifts such as jewelry, leather goods and souvenirs.

A a lazy Sunday morning with great people, coffee, food, market stalls and conversations in gorgeous parklands. The bi-monthly markets which are alternated between the Redlynch Valley along Freshwater Creek on Gamburra Drive and Regis Aged Care Facility, in Short Street Redlynch.

Showcasing locally created arts and crafts, the markets are a relaxing way to spend a Sunday morning.
This market lines Tanks promenade on Collins Avenue, with live entertainment provided by local musicians. Stalls feature a blend of local art, craft, produce, vintage clothing, collectibles and local natural health products. White Hat suggests this venue as a pleasant way to spend a Sunday morning. You may then want to wander on to relax in the nearby Botanic Gardens.

The Yungaburra Markets is the main fundraiser for the Yungaburra State School Parents and Citizens Association and is a pleasant hour and a half's drive from Cairns. There are plenty of stalls to choose from and you can find full information at Yungaburra Markets. White Hat can particularly recommend the Christmas Market on the third Sunday in December.

White Hat has yet to visit this market, but surely any event organised by the Malanda Lions Billycart Committee must be worthy of support.

Kern Arcade Car Park Markets

The Kern Arcade Car Park Markets have a large range of local fruit and vegetables, including organic and spray free produce. There are two mobile butchers plus over 150 stalls featuring locally made cakes and biscuits, chutneys and preserves, jewellery, bric-a-brac, ladies and children's fashions, collectable coins and notes, plants and timber craft.

White Hat recommends this market as a particularly efficient place for Sunday shopping since there is plenty of free parking both covered and uncovered in and around the market, and the Kern Arcade shops are also open for trading.

Noosa Farmers Market
A large range of local produce from local farmers and producers. Fruit, vegetables, seafood, jams, chutneys, and all the seasonal produce that this part of Queensalnd has to offer. In addition to the foos the is a range of other handmade goods. White Hat recommends that if you are taking a holiday in Noosa you make sure to get to this market to stock up for the week. ..

Cloncurry Sunday Morning Markets

The Cloncurry Sunday Markets feature homewares, jewellery, fashion, food, art and craft. White Hat suggests that for a leisurely Sunday morning in Curry you come along and meet and support members of the local community.

Cloncurry Twilight Markets

The Cloncurry Twilight Markets feature baked goods, giftware,  jewellery, handmade items, food, art and craft. In addition there is sometimes a jumping castle and an outdoor feature film. The market is presented by the Cloncurry Historical Society and White Hat suggests it as a relaxed family outing for a Saturday evening.

Mount Isa Community Markets

The Mount Isa Community Market supports local community services and all the money that is raised, is given to different local charities in the area. The room is donated by the Overlander Hotel so why not make it a Sunday outing by having lunch at the hotel before or after you browse the market. Apart from an array of products, including some hand made by locals, you might find some interesting offerings from out of town travellers who are welcome to hire a table at a reasonable price. (White Hat suggests that might be a useful way to offload that stuff you're never going to use that your partner bought at previous markets down the road.)
