This day is celebrated as Koningsdad (King's Day) in The
Netherlands where it is a national holiday. It celebrates the birth of King
Willem-Alexander. It is also a public holiday in South Africa,
Freedom Day, celebrating the first non-racial national
elections which were held on this date in 1994 after the dismantling of
apartheid.

market held at Eagle Farm Racecourse every Sunday morning. There are over 100
stalls with fruit, vegetables, produce, clothing, accessories and lots more.
White Hat is always impressed with the strong community atmosphere this market
generates. There is an impressive array of gourmet foods on offer including
olives, cheeses, pates, nuts, oils, honey, jams, herbs & spices and more. There
is meat, seafood, artisan breads and cakes, game, hand crafted goods and fresh
